Sapogenin glycosides. A type of glycoside widely distributed in plants. Each consists of a sapogenin as the aglycon moiety,and a sugar. The sapogenin may be a steroid or a triterpene and the sugar may be glucose,galactose,a pentose,or a methylpentose.
