Leukemia associated with hyperplasia and overactivity of the lymphoid tissue. There are increased numbers of circulating malignant lymphocytes and lymphoblasts. (Dorland,28th ed,p919)n : leukemia of either of two types marked by an abnormal increase in the number of white blood cells (as lymphocytes) which accumulate in bone marrow, lymphoid tissue (as of the lymph nodes and spleen), and circulating blood —called also lymphatic leukemia, lymphoid leukemia —see ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA, CHRONIC LYMPHOCYTIC LEUKEMIA
